Skill Effects Roleplaying Effects
Kinetic Mastery You may ‘DODGE’ up to five times before the co-processor used to calculate these actions overheats, DODGE means you may ignore the effects of a ranged combat call or a melee blow by touching one hand and one knee to the ground, there is no call required and no cooldown procedure is needed between individual uses. The co-processor will cool, fully replenishing this count, after ten minutes of non-use, (at the same time as your field capacitors recharge). (See also note on accessibility below)You are inclined to respond calmly when under attack
Motion Mapping You may ‘PARRY’ up to six times before the co-processor used to calculate these actions overheats, PARRY means you may ignore the effects of a melee blow by dropping a meleee weapon held in your hands, there is no call required and no cooldown procedure is needed between individual uses. The co-processor will cool, fully replenishing this count, after ten minutes of non-use, (at the same time as your field capacitors recharge). (See also note on accessibility below)You are inclined to see biological combatants as ungainly and primitive
Damage Control You have two additional hits You are less inclined to see physical threats as a personal danger
Field Augmentation You have one more shield point than your field suit would normally provide You are inclined to have a high estimation of your abilities and influence
Field Overclocking If you have Field Augmentation installed, you have an additional shield point above what your field suit would normally provide You are inclined to see yourself as more of a god when compared to biological life forms
Weapon Synergy You may call ‘MASS SINGLE’ with an infantry weapon You are more inclined to accept what you consider necessary losses
Dynamic Compensation If you have Weapon Synergy installed, you may call ‘MASS DOUBLE’ with a support weapon You are less inclined to understand why others have a problem with what you consider necessary losses
Dynamic Targeting You may call ‘TRIPLE’ with an infantry weapon You are inclined to respond to problems by finding the source of the issue and addressing it directly
Projectile Devariation If you have Dynamic Targeting installed, you may call ‘QUAD’ with a support weapon You are inclined to identify problems wherever you can
Ballistic Optimisation You may call ‘DOUBLE STRIKEDOWN’ with a shotgun You are more inclined toward risky behaviour
Human Medical Suite You may stabilise human characters, and heal them with a surgical kit You are inclined to see humans as somewhat sub-optimal systems that occasionally require maintenance or repair
Many Medical Suite You may stabilise Many characters, and heal them with a surgical kit You are inclined to see Many as somewhat sub-optimal systems that occasionally require maintenance or repair
Zebulon Medical Suite You may stabilise Zebulon characters, and heal them with a surgical kit You are inclined to see Zebulons as somewhat sub-optimal systems that occasionally require maintenance or repair
Autodiagnostic Protocols You may repair and restore engrams to NOI characters with an engineering kit You are less inclined to let setbacks and losses get you down
Combat Field Interface You may replace a combat capacitor with 5 seconds of uninterrupted appropriate roleplaying You are more inclined to assist others
Panspectral Analysis You may use minerological, medical and radiological scanners to open the appropriate type of envelope after 60 seconds of uninterrupted study You are more inclined to seek out new knowledge
Advanced Ultrasound Analysis If you have Panspectral Analysis installed, you may use a minerlogical scanner to open a blue data envelope after 5 seconds of uninterrupted study You are more inclined to consider the circumstances and systems underlying the situations you face
Advanced Chemical Analysis If you have Panspectral Analysis installed, you may use a biometric scanner to open a green data envelope after 5 seconds of uninterrupted study, you may also produce two duplicates of any one unused medical or recreational syringe you possess at the end of an event for the cost of one downtime point You are more inclined to be curious about biological systems of any kind
Advanced EM Analysis If you have Panspectral Analysis installed, you may use a radiological scanner to open a red data envelope after 5 seconds of uninterrupted study You are inclined to do things just to see what would happen
Universal Assembly You may use resources to construct all equipment found on the starting equipment list You are more inclined to believe that any problem is surmountable with the right tools
Universal Disassembly You may disassemble items to retrieve some of the resources used in their construction You are inclined to believe that everything becomes redundant at some point
Optimised Disassembly If you have Universal Assembly installed, you may disassemble items to retrieve the majority of the resources used in their construction You are inclined toward fomenting change, even at the cost of existing systems

You can remove and add engrams during downtime, as long as you do not exceed your Capacity

Your Capacity can be improved during downtime

Note on Accessibility

The above rules are intended to create a style of fighting in which movement is dynamic and cinematic, and the need for OOC combat calls is minimised. However, we recognise that this style adds an extra level of inaccessibility to an area of the game (ie, combat) that is already inherently inaccessible for some. Therefore, while the dynamic style described above is encouraged when possible, any combatant may also substitute the following actions at any time:

  • To dodge, rather than touching the ground with one knee and one hand, at your discretion you may instead call “DODGE”.
  • After dodging, if your appropriate cooldown action requires you to take five steps, at your discretion you may instead wait 3 seconds before being able to dodge again.
  • To parry, rather than dropping a melee weapon, at your discretion you may instead call “PARRY”.
  • After parrying, if your appropriate cooldown action requires you to regain your dropped weapon, at your discretion you may instead wait 3 seconds before making a melee attack or parrying again.
